Gionee has recently launched a new smartphone in India, called Marathon M5, with a massive 6020mAh battery, priced at Rs. 17,999 / 245 €. The company is preparing the launch of the M5 Gionee Marathon Plus in an event scheduled for December 21 in China. Today the brand has surprised everyone with the launch of the smaller version of the device called Gionee M5 Lite Marathon in China.
The Gionee Marathon M5 Lite is packed with features entry-level, unlike Marathon M5 is powered by a 4000mAh battery, smaller. The device features a 5-inch display (720 × 1280 pixels), as HD with 294 ppi pixel density and protection Dragontrail.
Under the hood, we find a quad-core MediaTek MT6735 64-bit clocked at 1.3GHz paired with 1GB of RAM, 16GB of internal memory and a microSD card slot for expansion up to 128GB.
In department cameras, the device mounts a 8MP rear camera with LED flash, and the front has a 5MP camera. The smartphone supports dual sim dual standby and comes with standard connectivity options such as 4G-LTE, GPS / A-GPS, Bluetooth, Wi-Fi and a microUSB port. Runs with Android 5.1 Lollipop based UI Amigo 3.0.
The 4000mAh battery of the device can last up to 40 hours talk time and 39 days standby on a single charge. Even with its big battery, the Gionee Marathon M5 Lite measures only 8.5 mm and weighs about 185 grams.
The device is currently available only in China, and is priced at 999 yuan (about $ 155 / Rs. 10,400 / € 140). Stay tuned more updates about the launch of the smartphone.
