New Black Shark 2: the mobile for "gamers" of Xiaomi is renewed with Snapdragon 855, 12 GB of RAM and OLED screen

As planned, Xiaomi today introduced new models belonging to the different brands that were born in the company’s catalog in the last year. Only a few hours ago, the new Redmi 7 was officially introduced , the company’s big bet for the entry range, and now it’s time to travel to the opposite end of the Xiaomi phone range , to find the new Black Shark 2, a beast focused on the most gamers.

The Black Shark 2 takes as a base all those who already fell in love with more than one in the first generation , as well as in the special edition “Helo”, and improves it with more advanced technologies, a more powerful technical section, and a design Although it maintains the essence of the original model, it has been substantially improved, mainly due to the arrival of new color variants and the use of new materials.

The physical appearance of the phone returns to be protagonist in this new installment of the Black Shark series . The design follows the same language of the last generation, with green lines surrounding the aluminum chassis of the phone, where on this occasion glass panels are also introduced, as well as certain plastic elements that the company says are aimed at improving ergonomics when playing, as well as avoiding possible interference when holding the phone with both hands.

The main novelty in this sense lies in the range of colors. To the black and silver tones, a new variant of color “Blue mirage” is added.

There are also interesting changes on the front of the phone. The Black Shark 2 has a larger screen with respect to the last generation, with 6.39 inches diagonal, and the margins that surround it have reduced its size substantially, without having to give way to the notch , hole in screen or no other alternative solution. In addition, the panel now uses OLED technology, with Full HD + resolution of 2,340 x 1,080 pixels in total , and is equipped with an independent image processing chip in charge of optimizing the content.

The screen also supports HDR content, and Xiaomi implements a system called TrueView Display, responsible for monitoring the ambient light temperature through a four-channel light sensor, and intelligently adjusting the display parameters depending on the input information. It is also necessary to dwell on the fact that this Black Shark 2, like the Mi 9 – a phone with which it shares several features – has an optical fingerprint reader under the screen.

How could it be otherwise, under the hood of this bestial smartphone we find the best existing specifications in the mobile landscape today. The Snapdragon 855 processor is responsible for giving life to the terminal , accompanied by 6, 8 or even 12 GB of LPDDR4x RAM and 128 or 256 GB of internal storage UFS 2.1. Black Shark makes sure to keep the phone cool even after heavy gaming sessions through a renewed liquid cooling system, 20 times more efficient than in the previous generation. And if that was not enough, Xiaomi offers an external accessory that will further cool the phone, thanks to a large-area fan with aerodynamic air ducts.

Its battery capacity of 4,000 mAh , compatible with Quick Charge 4 Quick Charge should be more than enough to keep the device with the lights on for long enough.

As for the functions that make this Black Shark 2 a terminal created to play, we found the Magic Press system, which allows the phone screen to detect the pressure with which the player clicks on the panel to perform various customizable actions within the game . A stereo audio system also appears on the scene thanks to its two front speakers, and adapted software that introduces interesting tools such as intelligent performance management, intelligent recognition of game scenes, automatic network management, and more.

The Black Shark 2 is available for booking in China from today , where it already appears in the official store of the brand at a price of 3,199 Yuan, equivalent to 420 euros according to the current change for the most affordable model with 6 GB of RAM , and up to 550 euros to the change for the version with 12 GB of RAM and 256 GB of internal storage. Although it is expected that the terminal will end up crossing China’s borders to reach the rest of the markets where Black Shark operates officially -the European between them-, the date of arrival is unknown at the moment.
