MoDaCo.SWITCH is a bit special ROM

The first beta MoDaCo.SWITCH lands on the Galaxy S4

MoDaCo.SWITCH is a bit special ROM. Not only does it allow to switch on the fly between the two ROMs simplest way, but it also shares data with each other. A real time-saver and ergonomics.

So far, this ROM was only available on HTC One, MoDaCo.SWITCH now sees with a version of Galaxy S4 following a successful Indiegogo campaign. The first beta comes with several applications including:

SwitchUp: which allows you to search and retrieve updates.
Switch companion: the companion being developed, which allow you to configure certain aspects of switch.
Switch Kitchen: reserved for premium members and some participants in the Indiegogo campaign, which will enable or disable certain features ROMs.

Switch which allows to pass from TouchWiz Google Experience simply by pressing the application icon and select “yes.” It can hardly be simpler, but when in doubt you can find a video of Paul O’Brien, the developer of MoDaCo.SWITCH, presenting the main features.

Finally, for those who are interested in land and MoDaCo.SWITCH, it will take its troubles patiently. Indeed, beta 1 is currently only available to participants in the Indiegogo fundraising campaign. It is quite possible that this is open to everyone, no specifications have been published and therefore we can not know if it will happen and how long. By cons, if you had participated in the campaign, you should have received an explanatory email with a download link.

How to move application from Galaxy S4 to Micro SD card?

Shortly after the release of the Samsung Galaxy S4, the internal storage space offered by the device had generated much controversy because it appears that the device does not offer users about 9 GB of the 16 GB available. Something that was not very dramatic as the Micro SD card may very well take over for storing media files. For cons, the lack of space was quickly felt when we started to install some necessary applications, and the memory was quickly saturated after installing some good games on the device.

A few weeks ago, Samsung has released an update to include some applications to move to the memory card (see our article on this subject: the first update of the Samsung Galaxy S4 to move applications to a memory card).

You can then sort your applications by size for better visibility

Yet moving application is not easy, because it turns out some files related to the application that can not be moved to the memory card. Indeed, if we take for example the case of the Amazon Kindle App application. Once the application is moved to the memory card, it also tried to move the e-book files on the card via a dedicated application, and it is the Samsung Galaxy S4 that cannot find the file just moved. Anyway, moving applications to the external memory card can save you so many GB of storage on your device.

Thus, to move an application, you must go first in “Settings.” Then you can press the tab “more” at the top right of the screen as you can see on the image captured below:

By tapping the “storage” menu, your Galaxy S4 calculate for a moment the memory used by your system, and the remaining memory. Once you have an idea of the remaining memory, you can press back and go to the application manager. You can then sort your applications by size for better visibility.

At this stage you can decide about the application you want to move. Once you press the application icon, you will see a button that will prompt you to move it to your memory card. If this button is grayed out, the application can not be run from your Micro SD card, otherwise you can move applications to the external storage card.

Schedule emails, SMS or social networking on Android

Have you ever needed to send an email to a specific time and you have been impossible? Like say good morning to your followers on Facebook or Twitter at a certain time? It is difficult to always be available to send a text message (SMS), email messages or through social networks. It is quite possible that the time indicated for this procedure while you forget it. Hence, there are some solutions for these cases. For Android platform there is a free application called Schemes, available for download on Google Play.

Once downloaded the application on the smartphone, you only need to enter the account data to be used. With Schemes, the client can send messages through Twitter, Facebook, SMS or via e-mail service, Gmail. Once data is entered in the accounts, the application is ready to be used and programmed.

The screen where you create the texts to be sent later, has a clean and very intuitive interface: you only have to choose the services that are going to come into play-you can use the previous four at a time. Place the recipient as if it were an email, write the text, and you program the day and time where you have to leave for your destination.

But you must take into account some limitations such that if the user normally works with different user accounts, both email and social media, it must go in and out to switch accounts; Schemes only works with an account. To get in or out of them, the user must press the “Menu” main settings appear where you can leave the accounts that are being used at that moment.

Also keep in mind that the application will only work with Google email service, GMail; other accounts on services like Outlook, Yahoo! Mail, corporate email, etc. are not supported by this new feature.

Now, what do you get with Schemes? Let the Android device becomes all a work tool and make the user do their work on necessary day and time. On the other hand, if you do not want to have any of the accounts (Twitter or Facebook) abandoned for many hours, or you want to be timely in sending a greeting here you can enter SMS, Schemes can be a good choice. Similarly, in Google Play there are other options like TweetCaster or Buffer which will undertake to the Timeline of active user, through its programming service messages. These two options are also free.

Whatsapp Brings Important New Features For Windows Phone

The messaging application WhatsApp is generating buzz. The question is which is not always for the better. This time it is a supposed list of new features that are coming for the version of Windows Phone. The dissonant note is that users of this platform take two months waiting for an update to improve this communication tool. And not for the news, which are quite interesting, but because they are using a tool that compared to other platforms is below about features and performance.

the trajectory of WhatsApp for Windows Phone are awaited and useful options

This new list has leaked from an Italian website where supposedly a beta tester, a person responsible for tests the performance of products in development, in this case of WhatsApp, discussed the innovations this version bring. A version with the number and quality of new products is expected to raise the number of version 3.0.

The first is an improvement in terms of the user interface, i.e. at the interface and visual appearance of the application.

Something that would come from the hand of an agent code rewriting to avoid having to use the music section and improve the performance of the implementation.

It is also possible to enable users to call through the mobile phone and the Internet (VoIP) from the profile in the talks.

New emoticons to use in conversations. Perhaps the new selection that users of Android and enjoyed for several months and that they inherited from the of iPhone.

The emoticons also be reflected in the live tiles or medium sized tiles placed on the desktop of the terminal.

The rewrite and improvements also allow open the application from a notification does not take too long as to date, losing several seconds to load. According to leaks, it will be like in Android, virtually instantaneous.

Alongside these developments would also include a function to retrieve a backup application installed nothing. This means retrieve stored messages daily if uninstall or lose the application for any reason. As long as you do not format or delete all files in the terminal, of course.

The new design results in a user viewing the images larger, taking over the terminal screens.

Finally, you know that in the next version it will be possible to delete the files received to avoid filling the memory.

News that may be basic for other platforms but that, given the trajectory of WhatsApp for Windows Phone, are awaited and useful options. Still remain one more customization and proper functioning of the application. Issues hopefully improved in this release have not yet arrived but that is expected in the coming weeks.

As the section Memory, it is a space to meet the current use of the RAM of the terminal. Thus, there is shown a graph of portions where check how many MB of memory are used, how many are free or inactive connected. Moreover, as in the case of the battery, it offered advice to make room for this type of memory and make the terminal work without slowdowns, faster and smoother.

Another section is Data Usage, i.e. the Internet connections to the terminal. It shows if the current connection is via 3G or WiFi. It also offers other data such as the amount of data sent and received, the total consumption made and other information such as the address MAC.
