The annual CES 2020 fair held in Las Vegas is over, but the countdown begins for the MWC to begin. Until then we have to review the most striking that has been presented at this fair, some of them could be classified as concepts , but others if they could be a reality in a short time.
The fair held in Las Vegas has been characterized by presenting more fantasies than realities, just check that most of the things we saw last year have not yet been released , even most of those presented in 2018. But let’s see The most interesting or popular thing we have seen this 2020.
VISION-S Sony electric car
One of the surprises of this fair was the appearance of Sony with an electric car. A vehicle loaded with autonomous driving technology , a spectacular futuristic design, 33 sensors, 360º audio, total connectivity and 540hp of power.
The Sony VISION-S is an electric sedan of 4.89 meters long , 1.9 meters wide and 1.45 high, with a three-meter battle and space for four passengers with individual seats. It is made on a specific modular platform for electric manufactured by Magna, one of several partners that Sony has turned to for this car.
The Japanese firm has also had companies such as Bosch, Continental, Nvidia or Qualcomm for different vehicle components. Two electric motors of 200 kW each, which provide 540 hp of total power. VISION-S has all-wheel drive. There are no details about the battery or autonomy, although Sony says its electric car weighs 2,350 kilos .
In the case of a company like Sony, the agglomeration of the latest electronic components that includes the vehicle is overwhelming, from 5 screens on the dashboard that emulate a super wide screen , to a speaker system built into the seats that provides an audio experience immersive that encapsulate the passengers and offers them a 360 degree sound.
Sony has not made any kind of statement about the intention of bringing this vehicle to market, so it seems to be a prototype to show manufacturers how TesLa, which way to go.
OnePlus Concept One
OnePlus one of the most prestigious Chinese brands in China, has not presented any new terminal at the Las Vegas fair but it did show a prototype that although it does not seem that it will go out in the short term to the market .
If we look at the front it may seem that we find a OnePlus 7T pro, what matters to us in this case is on the back of the terminal, we find a quite unique leather finish as well as a system of invisible cameras. If invisible thanks to a special glass, known as electrochromic that conceals the lenses while the camera application is not open. It is not a mechanism, but an electrical impulse system that changes the crystal from opaque to translucent and vice versa thanks to a series of organic particles that react to these stimuli.
RollBot, the robot looking for toilet paper
It may seem like a joke but it is a reality, and for some people who live alone it can be a salvation to get out of trouble, or a comfort for those more clueless. Surely you’ve ever run out of toilet paper in the bathroom, this robot can help you. It is called Rollbot and has been presented at this CES 2020 by the American company Procter & Gamble.
Rollbot has been designed and programmed to take the paper wherever you are , both for public places and private homes. Its position can be controlled with the mobile , so it is possible to call it when necessary.
LG OLED48CX TV
Until today if we wanted an oled tv we had no choice but to buy a panel of 55 inches in diameter, this became a problem if what we need is a television for a bedroom , this year LG will also be carrying The incomparable image quality of LG OLED TV to a new screen size: 48 inches. This 4K UHD unit (OLED48CX model) reproduces an even sharper image quality with more than 8 million pixels on the 48-inch screen , density comparable to that of a 96-inch 8K TV.
Samsung Q950TS QLED 8K
This is the first 8k TV that combines an ultra-slim and eye-catching design, 8k Premium image quality and impressive surround sound . This TV also has the so-called ‘infinite screen’ which means that 99% of the front is made up of the screen.
This TV is equipped with the Quantum 8K AI processor , it has 8K AI capabilities that can automatically scale non-8K content to a “real” 8K resolution. With a function called Adaptive Picture, you can also optimize the screen for environmental conditions. And the AI ??Quantum processor, the power source that powers the screen, also helps boost Samsung’s smart home platform, Tizen , that allows users to experience from improved image quality to greater utility of its smart features.
If we add to all this technology the latest advances in sound developed by Samsung called Q-Symphony, Object Tracking Sound + (OTS +) and Active Voice Amplifier. These qualities maximize surround sound by offering dynamic audio that corresponds to the large-screen viewing experiences.
Lenovo YoGa 5G
Lenovo Yoga 5G is an ultra-light transformable laptop that comes with the new SnapDragon 8cx 5G processor that will run Windows 10 on ARM . If you provide us with the best image, a 14 ”Full HD touch screen with 400 bits of brightness and an Adreno 680 GPU will be ordered.
In the sound section we have stereo speakers with Dolby Atmos technology and a 3.5mm input for the headphones. We also have 2 USB ports and a slot to introduce a Micro Sim for the 5G connection although we can use the virtual sim Esim if our operator has it, this will provide this equipment with a connection speed much higher than the current 4G.
In addition to this, we have components such as an infrared camera and an integrated fingerprint reader . We have a software dedicated to temperature regulation, to adjust the performance based on the operation we are performing at all times, allowing it to remain at an optimal temperature . It has 8 GB of RAM and 265 GB / 512 GB of storage, as well as a battery of up to 24 hours of autonomy with a single charge.
Samsung has presented an invisible keyboard that will allow us to type on any surface thanks to its AI. The usual thing when we use a tablet or a smartphone is to deploy the on-screen keyboard and type to type, but what if, instead, we could deploy an invisible keyboard on any table to write as if it were a physical desktop keyboard ? Well, this is the idea of ??Samsung with this technology.
SelfieType requires us to have the smartphone or tablet on the table, as if it were a monitor and through genuine artificial intelligence through the front camera of our device that analyzes the movement of our fingers to intuit what we want to write. We will not see anything projected so we cannot see any keys or help typing .
For now this is just a concept, so we will not see it implemented in any commercial terminal. Due to the complexity of being blindly typing and that AI will be in charge of knowing what we are writing, I doubt that we will see this in the short term, but, it is not a crazy idea and possibly one day we will end up seeing it implemented both in our devices phones , as well as on our tablet or smartTV.
